Mother of all Relays

*197 miles relay race from Mt. Hood to the coast
*Run through downtown Portland
*Run a leg of the relay in the dark in 40 degree weather
*Attempt to get a few hours of sleep on the ground in your sleeping bag
*Run another leg of the race and jump in a van to head to the next hand off spot
*fight through the masses of traffic caused by 1,023 teams and their vans (each team has 2
vans)
*Try more types of power bars, energy drinks, and energy gel then you even knew existed
*Eat at Subway more times in one day then you have eaten there all year
*Attempt to sleep in the van with little success
*Finish the race in Seaside, OR

This is part of the Portland leg Jer ran.Jer's Team Jer is waving to Christine in this picture
What do you do why you are waiting to watch dad run past you...
* Visit Multnomah Falls
*Eat snacks by the waterfall
*Drink Chocolate milk
*Play at Sellwood Park
*Get wet in the river
*Pet EVERY dog at the dog park
*Eat Voodoo doughnuts (choosing just one of the many crazy designs was so hard to do!)
*Drink Sunny D
*Ride in the car while watching "move it move it" (Madagascar)
*sleep in a tent at a beach house that we think belongs to an acquaintances sister (later found out
we really were in the right place)
*Eat chocolate doughnuts
*Go shopping at outlet stores in Seaside because mom forgot jackets
*Play in the sand by the ocean
*visit the taffy factory
*Eat snacks by the ocean
*play games to win rubber band balls, sand buckets and shovels
*taste test various types of power bars and energy drinks
*Run in the sand by the ocean to run off all the energy we ate and drank
*Finally watch dad run past and say, "...Is that it?" (Christine)

Notice the cute new sweater Daniel is wearing. I promise they are not sticking that grass up Daniel's nose.
Such a good sport...having to sit in the stroller for hours and still as happy as can be!
*23 Countries, all 50 states, over 15,000 participants, thousands of volunteers
The largest relay in the WORLD

And that is why it is called THE MOTHER OF ALL RELAYS
I am hoping to run it with Jer next year. Anyone want to watch three kids for a few days the last weekend of August?

Holy cow Kaysi, you always amaze me! You're such a trooper taking your kids, and keeping them entertained that whole time! I would've told Mitch good luck, but I've got the kids so... good luck. :) You're such a good supportive wife!
